Laura Baca | grace and sunshine

In October of last year at her birthday party, Laura mentioned she was interested in having her photo taken. We reconnected during Christmas, and set the date. In the last couple weeks, we met to discuss her wardrobe as well as the style of shoot she wanted. When she brought over her wardrobe choices, I also knew I wanted to create a black tulle skirt to go with the gorgeous pink and black corset she had. It was time to pull out my trusty WWII era sewing machine, Black Beauty and get to creating something pretty!

Yesterday, we had an incredible shoot! It’s always fun for me to discover little things that really speak to me when photographing someone. Laura has an easy, genuine smile that just shines through her eyes. Also, she has the most graceful hands. Aside from working with textures, I also pulled out the vintage 35mm Minolta and shot a roll of film for the session. Here’s the sneak peek from our session. I can’t wait to see what comes back when the film is developed! – Amanda
